South Padre Island businesses are earning worldwide recognition, with 13 local winners named in the 2025 Tripadvisor® Travelers’ Choice® Awards. The distinction places them among the top 10% of attractions, tours, and accommodations globally, a rare achievement that highlights the island’s commitment to quality and hospitality.
The Travelers’ Choice Awards, based on authentic traveler reviews collected over the past 12 months, honor businesses that consistently deliver outstanding experiences. Visitors come to South Padre Island for incredible things to do, from dolphin-watching to sandcastle-building, and stay in award-winning accommodations that make every trip memorable. Earning praise for exceptional tours and experiences are eight local businesses: Breakaway Cruises, Sandcastle Lessons, Sea Turtle Inc., The Original Dolphin Watch, South Padre Island Adventure Park, Captain Murphy’s Fishing Charters, Tritoon Charters, and South Padre Island Fishing. These operators were recognized for activities like wildlife tours and conservation programs that create lasting memories for visitors.
Five accommodations also earned accolades: Isla Grand Beach Resort, Padre South Hotel on the Beach, Sand Rose Beach Resort, La Copa Inn Beach Hotel, and Courtyard by Marriott. These properties were honored for their welcoming environments and commitment to guest satisfaction.
