Former Laguna Vista Alderman Richard Hinojosa was elected to fill Place 6 and Councilmember Leti Martinez Keplinger was reelected to a second term on the Laguna Vista Town Council by voters here Saturday.
Hinojosa fills the vacancy created by one term Councilman Bill Schnier, who declined to seek reelection to the board.
Unofficial votes indicate that Hinojosa defeated area bank loan officer Ian Monroe by 129 votes. Hinojosa received 363 votes to Monroe’s 234. The vote totals will not become official until approved by the Town Council after review at Thursday’s meeting at 5:45 p.m. at City Hall.
