The South Padre Island City Council held a regular meeting Wednesday.
It was announced those interested in running for an elected position on the council need to submit required documentation between July 23 through August 20.
A draft done by Aaron Consulting reported South Padre Island has a $370 million economic impact on the county. A final draft will be presented to the board, so a one-page information sheet can be produced to inform the county of the importance of the Island.
