It’s an ongoing process at this time of the season. With two meets already in the books and another one coming up this Friday, Port Isabel girls track and field coach Julie Breedlove is getting more athletes in the game. It’s a step-by-step process and the goal is to have a complete team ready to go by the time of the district meet at La Feria in April.
Last Saturday the P.I. girls’ team competed at the Sams Relays in Brownsville.
“We ran a sprint relay,” Coach Breedlove said at Tuesday afternoon’s practice at Tarpon Stadium. “We’re beginning to plug in some pieces and see how we’re going to compete.”
