Top 10 finishes were turned in by three Port Isabel High runners in last Friday’s Mission Eagles Invitational track and field meet at Tom Landry Stadium in Mission, and two relay teams finished in the points for the first time this season.
“We’re really pleased,” boys’ track Head Coach Wen Moore said Monday. “We’ve seen a lot of progress in a short amount of time.”
Travis Camacho, a senior, ran the 200-meter dash in the time of 23.63 seconds, which was 10th fastest for the event. In the 400-meter race it was Shawn Shrewsbury getting 6th place with a clocking of 54.00 seconds, and Juan Ramos was close behind in 8th place with a time of 54.73 seconds. Roy Suarez was 17th at 58.30.
