First scrimmage went well for Tarpons

Last Friday the Tarpons traveled to Brownsville for a morning scrimmage with the Pace Vikings and apparently did pretty well.  Earlier this week two Tarpon assistant coaches shared their thoughts and observations on last Friday’s action.

“It went very well,” Joshua Kirton told the PRESS.  “They had a little bit more size than us but the kids competed really hard.  We just went out and did our best.  The kids played hard.”

Kirton serves as the offensive co-ordinator and running backs coach on the staff of new head coach Jason Strunk.

“They ran what we told them to run and we saw a lot of positives.  We’re just rolling them out to see how they do I game situations and stuff like that,” Kirton said.
