The Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Madre joined in with the thousands of centers around the nation on Friday for National Day of Play.
Bettina Tolin, president of the board for the Boys and Girls Club of Laguna Madre said, “One of the things the Boys and Girls Club puts a lot of emphasis on is fitness and a healthy lifestyle, especially in the days when kids spend a lot of time on the computer or texting. We’re here to teach them that action and play and games outside of school are good for them.”
National Day of Play was designed for this reason. Kids from all over the nation gathered at their local clubs and played games from basketball, soccer, relay races, whatever it took to get them active.
