Laguna VistaA uniform policy for making appointments to Laguna Vista advisory boards was approved here last month.

A requirement of the Town’s Home Rule charter, the policy stipulates that volunteers wishing to serve should complete an application, provide background information, prior to consideration for an appointment. Exempted from that requirement are incumbents who are currently sitting on advisory boards. Should they wish to continue serving on the board, they simply notify the city manager of their wishes.

“That says we recognize and approve their service,” Councilman Paul Villas said.

Included in the boards are the Planning and Zoning Commission, Parks and Recreation Board, Community Development Corporation, Board of Ethics, Board of Adjustments and others that may be created by the Town Council.
