Justice of the Peace Benny Ochoa was named the Judge of the Year in Texas by the Justice of the Peace and Constables Association.
Family, friends and a host of elected officials gathered Thursday at the Pirate’s Landing Restaurant in Port Isabel to celebrate Ochoa’s accomplishment.
Among them was state Sen. Eddie Lucio, who presented Ochoa with a senate proclamation congratulating him for his service.
