Cross-over Mash-Up event planned with turtles and gators

Sea Turtle Inc. (STI) and the SPI Birding Nature Center & Alligator Sanctuary (SPIBNC) on South Padre Island will each host a coordinated mash-up event between their two facilities on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

STI is hosting a ‘Spooky Saturday’ at 6617 Padre Boulevard while SPIBNC will feature ‘Hallowings Across South Padre Island’ next door at 6801 Padre Boulevard.

‘Spooky Saturday’ will include special guests and Sea Turtle Inc. educator appearances will also be at the ‘Hallowings across South Padre Island.’

10:30 a.m. ‘Gator Jake’ from SPIBNC will visit ‘Turtle Taylor’ during a sea turtle feeding at STI and bring a juvenile gator.

Guests can cross on over to the SPI Birding Nature Center with ‘Turtle Taylor.’

At 1:30 p.m., Turtle Taylor will visit ‘Gator Jake’ at SPIBNC for a gator feeding. Guests will meet Mario, STI’s three-toed box turtle. There will be plenty of memorable photo opportunities at both events.
