Two major revelations were addressed during Tuesday night’s Point Isabel School District Board of Trustees meeting, which included announcements of longtime board member Ann Schroder’s decision not to run for reelection and the retirement of Superintendent Dr. Estella R. Pineda.
Tears of sadness and joy welled up as Schroeder announced her difficulty with the decision not run for another term. She has served on the board for 15 years; this May will mark the end of her term as school board secretary.
