Diane Johnson believes this year’s SPI Wahoo Classic fishing tournament will be lots of fun, and doesn’t imagine any shortage on boats.

“We are looking forward to catching a lot of fish,” said Johnson, who’s a member of the tournament’s board of directors. She estimates about 40 boats will participate, and the number of anglers per boat is up to individual discretion.

SPI  Wahoo  Classic i s an annual fishing tournament for Wahoo, Black Fin Tuna, and Dorado. Spectators are welcome to come observe Sept. 8-10. There are provided alternative weather dates of Sept. 22-24.
Various cash prizes are up for grabs, with the biggest value being $10,000 for first place in the Wahoo division. $5,000 will be alotted  to second place, and $3,000 to third.
