A grand jury has returned a 9-count indictment against a Sugarland woman accused in a fatal hit-and-run that happened on South Padre Island during Spring Break Texas Week earlier this year.

Daisy Joy Decker, 21, is charged with one count of manslaughter, one count of intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle and one count accident involving death — all second degree felonies, as well as one count intoxicated assault with a vehicle SBI (serious bodily injury) and two counts of accident involving serious bodily injury — all third degree felonies, and three felony counts of accident involving injury.

The Cameron County grand jury returned the indictments on Nov. 1.

Decker is being represented by Brownsville attorney Ernesto Gamez. A spokesperson at Gamez’s office declined to comment Monday, other than to confirm he is the attorney of record in the case.
